Do you care to be brave?
A few days ago, Substack introduced the option of live chat with authors. As I can hardly keep up with answering comments, I am opting out, with the exception of my paying subscribers (besides a copy of my book from 2012, guaranteed response to e-mail is the only bonus they receive, while everything on my site is fully accessible for anyone; I’m not even pestering my readers with begging to get paid, because that would interrupt their reading).
I’m not sure if it affects only authors, but since the new feature was introduced, the site’s response time has been dragging down to a halt.
As a cognitive scientist, I can recognize the way a keylogger acts on the screen, but this time, obviously every keystroke and every action is recorded.
Just figured you wanted to know.
We feed the beast (the control system that never forgets) with every keystroke. Just in case it wasn't clear, that includes the delete key.
Who's surprised?
