A "Mass Formation" of Morons Using the Term
A fad for the semi-educated...

As a former academic, it usually upsets me, when nonsense becomes so popular that pseudo-intellectuals and even “real” academics start to regurgitate it. Here comes my problem with the widely-publicized concept of “mass formation” that poorly covers a phenomenon that has been around for most of history and explained a lot better lots of times than the faux “scientist” Desmet has done it to the indulgence of those, whose missing self-respect needs some pseudo-intellectual facade. The appeal mostly comes from the cult followers quietly registering that they are not part of the idiotic masses, so they feel better right away! What seems to escape their attention is that they have just joined another idiotic crowd.
About two months ago, I described, analyzed, and evaluated the idiocy of the term:

Since there is current discussion about the concept of “mass formation,” as it relates to “the pandemic experience,” I thought I’d make some comments.
The concept of mass formation is an intellectual castle in the air.
It purports to explain both manipulators and their human targets in the “pandemic years.”
Mass formation refers to some sort of mass hypnotic state of mind. As if a cloud, a mist, a transmitted signal. Birthed within a few hundred million or a few billion minds…whoosh. And its basic message is: YOU WILL OBEY YOUR COVID LEADERS. AND IF YOU’RE A LEADER, YOU’LL BE A TYRANT. Something like that.
Uh huh.
But in fact, we can simply say: there are people who do bad things to other people. When these evildoers are in charge, they do VERY BAD things. Like maiming, killing, illegally imprisoning, bankrupting.
There is no psychological mass formation of anything involved there.
A vaccine is killing and wounding huge numbers of people? The guilty parties are obvious. The vaccine manufacturer, the agency that authorized the vaccine (FDA), the government officials who laid on mandates, and so on…
And the doctors who give the shots or order them.
Where is the mass? Where is the formation? Nowhere.
Then we have the population of the world, assaulted with lies and lockdowns and killer medical treatments and false diagnoses and financial ruin, and so on.
Are these billions of people themselves forming some kind of mass in any literal sense? No.
Are most of them NOT resisting the oppression? That would be correct.
Is that a problem? Yes.
What kind of problem?
It’s not very technical. It’s called surrendering to fear. Fear of predators who have state power.
Am I therefore “blaming the victims?”
First of all, I don’t particularly like the term “victim.” To me, it implies a person can’t do anything about the people who are coming down on him like a ton of bricks.
I refuse to say that or believe it. And history proves so-called victims have fought for and won freedoms against stunningly long odds. MUCH longer odds than what we’ve been facing these past 2 years.
So let’s not bullshit ourselves about billions of recent victims who couldn’t rise up.
Every person can resist oppressors, and if necessary, die in that struggle.
Do I criticize people for failing to resist oppression? Well, gosh o gee, I do. Yes. I plead guilty to the crime of failing to be polite.
Do I realize different people have different limits on how far they will go to win their freedom? Yes.
OK. So…as far as the world population is concerned, where is the mass or the formation? Nowhere.
Are there exceptions to what I’ve written so far in this piece?
Here’s one. As I’ve reported for years, over and over, people across the world are being treated with massive amounts of destructive medical drugs. Toxic drugs. By doctors who are violating their oath every day.
These drugs, among other numerous effects, weaken the mind and scramble thought processes. You could call that a “mass formation,” if you were quite specific about what you were referring to.
But what about this: all of a sudden, two years ago, in response to a government declared state of emergency, and mandates, thousands and millions of people suddenly showed up everywhere WEARING MASKS.
This certainly looked like a mass phenomenon. Boom. Masks. People wearing them wherever they went.
There was an easy temptation to call that spontaneous mass formation.
I was somewhat less technical about it at the time. I said, who are all these fucking idiots wearing masks?
After further pondering, I came up with this amazing revelation. Each day, EACH INDIVIDUAL put on his stupid mask, INDIVIDUALLY.
And so when I went to the market and saw all these people wearing masks, although that was a compelling visual presentation, every one of those people had INDIVIDUALLY donned his/her mask.
It wasn’t really a mass phenomenon.
“Mass formation” is simply one of thousands of high-falutin terms academics feel compelled to come up with, because otherwise they’ve got nothing.
They can’t just talk about what’s going on in the world and who’s doing what to whom. That would be below them.
Plus, describing actual killers in high places would put them in deep shit with the people who are bankrolling the colleges they work at.
Yes, there is that.
Therefore, much better to bloviate endlessly and invent intellectual garbage which is adored by an “educated audience.”
As a result, that audience fails to face the bottom line: killers are just killers and dead bodies are people the killers killed.
PS: As I blithely stroll across those dead bodies on my way to the Post Office, I’m simultaneously submitting this article as my PhD thesis to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and the Sorbonne. When they get back to me with their enthusiastic confirmations, I’ll post screen shots of my diplomas. DOCTOR JON.
I’ll ditch my barber for a hair stylist, buy a few splendid suits from a British tailor, and start showing up at conferences with lots of psychological and philosophical gas to dispense to large audiences.
Now THOSE will be mass formation events.

This is what you need to understand: academics have to propose and debate notions that expand into intellectual castles in the air.
This is how they build careers.
For example: “theories of historical causation.” “What is the basis for all major events?”
A clever professor can fiddle with this bullshit for 30 or 40 years, pick up paychecks along the way, and retire on a pension.
Mass formation is one of those notions.
You can say the dual “phenomenon” of a billion people going along with COVID restrictions, and political leaders demanding and enforcing those restrictions, all stems from some sort of “mass hypnosis.”
If you do say that, and your university pulls a lever that allows this notion (mass formation) to enter of the lexicon of acceptable terms, you can embroider the notion ‘til the cows come home. You can use the notion in your classes and write papers about it. You can give lectures at conferences.
The more complex you make the notion the better.
Because SIMPLE and STARK are your enemies.
As an academic, you can’t build a career on those enemies.
You can’t tell the truth: A billion people chose to give in to COVID restrictions, and the political leaders chose to issue and enforce the restrictions.
You can’t say that. There would be nothing to teach, nothing to write about.
Worse, you would be claiming, out front, that freedom exists, people are free to make their own decisions, and they’re responsible for those decisions.
Making those claims will get your ass fired.
Modern “liberal academia” has a completely different agenda, which involves special groups of victims who must be compensated for their past and present pain; accusing the wrong people of being the oppressors of these victims; and touting certain political leaders as saviors, whereas those leaders are actually fascist tyrants.
In the dense grottos of such claims, freedom, the individual, and individual responsibility are never admired; rarely are they mentioned.
I’ve left out one thing. Whether or not you, as an academic, get a green light to introduce a new notion/term into the lexicon of intellectual gibberish depends on: who you are.
If you’re saying “mass formation” describes why a billion people fell into line with murderous COVID restrictions, you’re toast before you begin. Obviously.
But if you were, say, Noam Chomp Chomp Chomsky, and you were introducing mass formation to explain how 70 million MAGA people turned into hypnotized domestic terrorists overnight, your university bosses might wave you through the front door.
However, either way, the concept of mass formation hypnosis is bullshit, and the truth is: people make choices.
There is no mass and there is no formation.
Mass formation, at best, applies to events like liquefied rock under pressure pushing up through the surface of the earth and rising into the shapes of mountain ranges.
It doesn’t apply to people, to individuals.
Even when we’re talking about the effects of news media hammering the same lies at viewers 24/7, those viewers can decide not to listen, not to believe, not to obey.
No matter how brutal the actions of an oppressor are, people can choose to resist. They can fight back.
The people who would never fight back, never resist, are always looking for involved theories that claim they CAN’T fight back; the power of the oppression is too strong, too hypnotic.
These people welcome mass formation like a guest at dinner. A guest that gets them off the hook.
Mass formation is sitting there at the table, eating his steak, sipping champagne, saying, “You never had a chance. The ‘forces’ put you under before you could respond. You were in a trance state before you knew what was happening. Don’t worry. There was never a way out.”
You don’t notice A WHOLE LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE in the room. They’re saying, “Stop fantasizing. There is no guy sitting next to you sipping champagne. That’s YOU, trying to give yourself an excuse. It won’t fly. Shit-can mass formation. Join our team. It’s called FUCK THE OPPRESSORS. Our team has no formation or mass. It’s just us. We don’t give in, no matter what.”
That’s the team who, down through history, fought for real freedom and won. That’s the team who enabled you to sit at your table now and have a pleasant dinner and contemplate pissing all that freedom away.

I personally don’t condone vulgar language, because it is a substitute for accurate wording and it debases both the speaker and the audience.
Still, those, who don’t want to be part of the deluded “masses,” might as well start to think for themselves and stop using the fashionable, but fake academic term.
Not everyone believed in the masks, even while wearing them. If you can't get into a grocery store without one, you wear one and take it off as soon as you get out of the store. Some people told me at the time, but you can order food online. That may be a good solution for some people, but I like to do my own shopping, and wearing a mask in the store enabled me to shop there. Many people were like me: outwardly compliant but not fooled. Ordering online isn't quite the revolutionary act some people think it is, it's as enabling and compliant as wearing a mask to the store, plus you are staying home and outsourcing your life like they want.
In many places nowadays, mask mandates have been dropped, and guess what, far fewer people are wearing masks. The ones who still wear masks are the ones who were fooled. The rest of us are not fooled and probably weren't, even when we complied.
I'm not a cartoon heroine who will murder a security guard or go hungry rather than wear a mask. Protest has to make sense. But I think the people who come up with these "mass" theories aren't aware enough that most people have an inner life, and their public behavior doesn't tell you everything about them. This is why dictators like Ceausescu can be surprised by a sudden overthrow...the people didn't show their feelings until the right moment.

It's not about "intellectuals" making "intellectual garbage." It is about liars, frauds, criminals, and cowards that intentionally lie to and brainwash the public and shape the public's opinion.
The public has been trained to accept and consider only certain information from only certain frauds and pseudo-contrarians, placed for them to follow and worship. That is why every malicious fraud, cunningly promoted by the gov., has millions of followers/views and thousands of paid subscribers, and those who tell the truth have very few.
That's the "mass formation." Of course, I do not use the term in any way it has been presented recently, never even considered that garbage. It was not "recently coined," it has always been there, in the form of the strong (and subtle) propaganda to which the majority responds perfectly.
