Last paragraph of this essay sums up what seems to be the case. ‘If the core of AI is captured by human self interest, power, greed etc. then......’

dangerous territory we are in, I can see where the Utopian ideal can be adopted by many as a religious dogma.

I dare say though there are cave men pushing this forward.

If the beauty of the Lotus grows from the muck of the pond then , there is a chance for human leap here or total extinction.

The journey is an individual trip !

And I know very few individuals who qualify

Thanks for finding this one Ray

Susan,

It took me a whole month until is became clear who my readership was going to be. Along with that, my goal to "inform, entertain, and inspire" also shaped up. (Happily, only a few people think I want to convince them of me being right.)

It's most peculiar to me that, while this is journalism, everything in my articles is connected with everything else. I guess, that's how journalists manage to compile books from their articles. Imagine what those book would look like, if dishonest journalists tried to compile them! :)

Searching for the truth is a solitary pastime, but "'we' are all in this together"! :D

Black Rock's AI scooped up every financial transaction and stock buy and sale for the last 20 years.

I forget what their AI is called but they are leasing it now. And of course, their AI told them this week to stop buying Real Estate. But we do not know what the AI is buying now.

There is always a better AI. They are leasing out only the obsolete or unimportant ones. The Stock Market is going to become obsolete soon. Well, it already is, but it's not time to announce its demise.

This aside, I doubt 5G man can come about. Humans can be hacked but they die from hacking. Mankind is tempted by Titanism but they are not Godlings.

However the Masters of War will try and we will die. Good post.

Sometimes you scare the heck out of me, Ray.

Thanks. I, we, all of us, need it!

I understand this nano-quantum zeta threaded AI can beat any chess master after one move, your first!

That was only because the "computer" had ALL previous chess games in its database.

In 25 years, even basic chess programs became phenomenal!

The only way to win is by not playing! :)

Kasparov said of his decision, “I lost my fighting spirit.”

I remember reading about this at the time, I no longer played chess, but enjoyed following it, but somehow that comment finished it off for me. For the greatest player to lose his spirit, somehow signified a loss for us all.

Ray, something changed that day, almost like humanity resigned.

And do you realize we are still, to this day, paying for Y2K? Nobody ever believes it!

Great post and thank you for the inclusion here. Lots to figure out in a short time. Great links to Philip K. Dick, Blade Runner. Good old predictive programming on the part of Hollywood.

Much inspiration for the series Red Dwarf was from Bladerunner. I am enjoying catching up with it, vintage late 80's comic show that is so well done and well liked. here https://dai.ly/x6hjsak
