Tolstoy wrote a good short story How Much Land Does A Man Need. In modern America one is faced with the issue as money. I dropped out of the rat race so long ago I forgot about growing old. Of course this too is a result of a choice that after years of college the rat race clearly created rats. Leisure creates the human.

Now 65 and my wife at 80 and partially disabled living on SSI really is not ideal. Thus I put my detestation aside and submit resumes to work from home. I have worked many different gigs and the droll part is since 2008 each and every one went out of business. The last one went under just 6 months before Covid.

The story is one of Wittgenstein's favorites and mine too. Take 2O minutes and read it.

Not life changing but life affirming when you reach the conclusion.

Lenin wrote in his diary in Switzerland (before he was sent to Russia to create a diversion in order to take Russia out of WW1), "We were so poor that we nearly had to work." :)

Honest people, most of the time, have to...

I hope, you have something that is at least a bit enjoyable.

My evil to the core sibling , insurance Vice President, is a millionaire, I wouldn’t trade places with him in a billion years.

I’ve lived in poverty for many years being on disability and truly unable to work. God blessed me with a loving husband recently and an integrative medicine doctor. I’m now able to afford medicine that insurance doesn’t pay for. Just wanted to express my gratitude & thank God for providing these life changing blessings! ( biotoxin mold illness and a laundry list of autoimmune issues from a booster shot years ago).

Glad to hear you are doing okay.

Can we discuss this in e-mail? I don't want to talk nonsense, but I have a lot of questions.

Autoimmune is one thing I would like to gather enough information about for an article that might be helpful. The focus must be on the causes, which run wide and deep in the disintegrating remnants of Western civilization...

Your list is good Ray. Of course "wealth" is not only money but lets just talk money. An addition to the list would be, get some credential, get a reasonable job in the day, stop watching TV and get another job at night mon-thurs, and Saturday mornings. Say you're an avg accountant, engineer, not even a Dr or Lawyer. Hopefully you enjoy your work, one's life path was a decision to make around 20. Have fun, be with family etc on Friday nites, Sat afternoon-nites and all day Sunday, of course a few weeks a year holiday. Invest in safe things like CDs which USED TO guarantee you 4-6% a year (you can play with some gold or bonds but dont buy stocks because making a little more is not worth the risk and the market is rigged). Keep this going 35-40 years, now you've worked 2 lifetimes and invested over 2 lifetimes. Now your 64, everyone else is at 40work- years of $ you are at 100 work-years because your interest compounded more than 2X. A guy who averaged say 200k a year from the 2 jobs and saved 60k a year + investments now has 4 mil in the bank, hopefully 30 years left. His one job a day buddies have 2.0 mil$ in the bank. If he were a Dr or Lawyer he might have 7-10 mil$

What to do during our little Agenda 2030 and looming digital currency debacle is a WHOLE OTHER STORY as we may get Great-Reseted to zero.

The same old co(I)n, if you ask me, and rather than waste a single instance of life away from the truly important things, and only being given the crumbs, and the yearly vacation ... I'll be remembering and relearning, and honing the old worthwhile methods of living- the utterly simple and effective, honor-bound and time-proven ways (that came before the idea of money was ever even slithered into a human ear), living with and growing with my beloved family and immediate community, by the acts committed simply by my own gifted hands and sincere intent, which decency will not now, or ever shall, charge me one red cent for this privelege bestowed with life!

Any other attempt to charge me for such is part of the lie--the Big Lie, and the person proclaiming such is then become a liar...

The old, tired, nearly (but not quite) exhausted way that you endorse is born of the exact same disease that has led to the expansive agenda that you wistfully remark upon-- namely, the wanting of something for nothing (I do not say this to hurt you, specifically, or to be considered merely rude, but for only the honest observation).

Investment and banking, and interest and usury, and the 40 hour work week, and the minimum wage are all a vast devil's business, not only to distract from the fact that such is the case, but to trick us into viewing life as a game that, if played well, will land you in a ivory tower, as a master of men (or at least of your own destiny...), and the contented life expected of a minor or major hedonist, such as your "toil" has earned you... but at what cost, as there is ALWAYS a cost?

If a person depends upon such shenanigans for their sustainment, then I must suffer the fact that it is on them, this reliance upon a forced lie, dressed up as the obligatory yoke that a "wise" fellow would have donned by the fledgling age of 20??

Give me a shoe to chew, or a carpet to tear!!-- for that is the Roman way that you mention, and by adherence to such, you will allow for the same exact holocausts as have already been seen to occur (when it suits the orchestrator of such).

I feel only minor relief that I kept to a different sort of narrow path, one that fully allowed me to grow and expand, and to achieve the perch which has allowed me to exclaim such as I have, yet many of my fellows have been led away, to my lament.

So my dear fellow, I must now exclaim that our pipes may be a bit shrill in each other's ears, perhaps, but that we might overcome this obstacle that holds many down, and not be like the fellow that could not part with his physical, earthly wealth, which is always going to set one up for a certain failure, when such is the compass point set for ones self.

Growth should not be a shameful state of being, such as our modern take on such, which allows "growth for the sake of growth" to usurp healthy, natural growth, and money would seem to be inextricably bound with such when the wall street set has their way, can't you see? And this is not casually achieved, but is somewhat malevolently designed, and would seem a inherent part within the whole system of currency and exchange.

To sum up-- The Whole System's Rigged, and if you participate willingly, you will likely experience the same fate as the other orchestrators, enablers, and participants, which will not be pretty, one can easily imagine.

Blessings sent your way.

The USD is under controlled demolition. Even the enforcers and the lackeys will profit nothing, unless they submit to full control under the CBDC:

https://rayhorvaththesource.substack.com/p/circumventing-the-cbdc

I can't see a way out of it; it's being secured from all sides. Even $10m will be worth exactly what fiat money is worth: nothing. Owning assets is impossible, unless under the guise of a non-profit or some other non-taxable entity. The money also has be be contstantly laundered among participating entities in order to make it work.

I am compelled to say that money is a hurdle set for most humans to trip on.

We (humans) only NEED a few simple substances, despite what is whispered into our collective ear.

Monetary Wealth or Spiritiual Wealth?-- because rarely can the two abide under the same roof, and the reasons are simple.

As you are fond of saying, Ray, "the devil's in the details"...

Ray, we've all been on that fucking merry-go-round "making money" or more correctly "making other's money" for our whole lives!

That is why I tell my overseas contacts don't come here. Here, you can't even take your two weeks paid vacation because by the time you get back, they will have replaced you with some poor slob in even worse shape than you.

You see, you should not have taken vacation, you should have worked through it for the "extra money." But it is OK, we are transferring you to that shit hole shop nobody wants to work at because there has to be a deputy out front. Not just some deputy, but Deputy Jamarcus, black, six foot 4 inches, a body builder, and holding that 12 gauge pump, 3 inch magnum of course, he looks like some kind of Greek Statue.

It's not all bad, however, you and Jamarcus become good friends, he even escorts you to and from your car, or at least gives you "cover." And everyone knows he's good with a gun!

You see, the good deputy, although he hardly needs it, is a fan of Viagra, and he doesn't even care if they are "generic."

Banks in the US borrow the money that the taxpayer borrows for the Federal Reserve at an interest and they also pay an interest, albeit negligible compared with the interest rate they charge on their loans and credit cards.

Geez-- all of the effort put in to muddying the obvious by our elitist, ruling class overlords (and their toadies), and from the outset, by all of the indicators...

The deception runs deep, but not so deep as that a person of diligence might be able to crack the code, should such efforts prove worthy.

Oy.

The govt.com is only a front; it's the executor of its masters' will.

As for me, the Constitution was already the first step towards tyranny; I would prefer the Articles of Confederation, but nobody asked me. :)

The banking system does NOT create money out of thin air; the Federal Reserve does, in the form of debt. The taxpayer "borrows" the money in the form of debt at an interest, and the money is distributed among affiliates, including banks.

As fiat has no intrinsic value, they DO have the USD backed up by what it's worth: nothing. However, the citizens provide the collateral by their assets, labor, and limbs (no kidding, that's the wording in such govt loan contracts with the Fed).
