How Can They "Buy Back" Something They Never Sold You? Your Guns Are Coming Up for Sale, and You Will Have To Pay for Your Purchases, While Losing Them!
The proper word is confiscation, and you are PAYING for it!
Canada, as in the case of the truckers’ protest:
Canada is showing the way!
You don’t need a fortune-teller, because all you can expect is misfortune, and you probably don’t want to pay for that sort of thing!
Gun confiscation, in the Orwellian-named “buyback” program, has reared its ugly head all over the place.
If you take a look at Canada, you might see what to expect:
Protests
Turdeau used an Order of Council to pass the ban, because the parliament was suspended due to the Plandemic. The opposition party didn’t have a chance to discuss this mandate.
From the estimated 2 million Canadian firearm owners, 500,000 showed up at the protest, and another 230,000 signed the online petition:

You can easily guess the result: a comprehensive database with the personal details of all those, who have protested!
The official announcement is definitely Newspeak
The ban infringes on Section 7 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, according to which,
“Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice.”
Unlike the United States, Canada does not have the Second Amendment. Canadians, instead, have this “law”:

As you might guess, resistance arises, but strangely enough, it even comes out at the provincial level
Albertans, as most humans would, are naturally opposed to giving up their weapons. It is a redneck country out there; cattle farmers and oil-field workers.
The tough crowd won’t submit willingly:
What is this all about? Is it possible that the provinces don’t want to finance the theft or they know that they couldn’t possibly find sane and able-bodied people to participate in the enforcement?
Calgary police agreed to the plan, but they want further details before committed to enforcement
Although Calgarian authorities are sympathizing with “previous shooting victims,” they are cautious, because taking weapons from a collector or from a hunter’s hand “can create a hostile environment.”
Officials want to know the rules for the game and make the first move.
Canadians are peace-loving, friendly folks, but not stupid:
Mandatory buyback
You are a slave, owned by the Federal Government, and you have the option to get shot or obey (get back pennies over your dollars, and even pay for the expenses, for which you accumulate more debts for the taxpayer):

There are the steps for surrendering your weapon
And here are the rules. Really?

It’s called Program: Notification & Declaration, Collection, Transport and Warehousing, Destruction, and Compensation.
So, what is, in fact, this? Sorry, you are not allowed to know... The document heavily redacted to the point that the text becomes totally incoherent. As the article goes,
“In fact, nearly the entire Collection section has been removed - leaving the report devoid of a key component.
“Without it, much of the report’s been relatively difficult to make sense of, between the heavy redactions and various seemingly intentionally vague wordings in the remaining text.”
The text is literally incomprehensible. I guess, it’s for the “common good”:

You’ll be Notified of your Newly Prohibited Firearms, and asked to Declare them on “Surrender Forms.”
So, you are expected to willingly give up your weapons. That reminds elderly Canadians of European origin of things from their past.
My wife still remembers her family members recalling the days, when they were stripped from their possessions, their land, and their business, all in the name of the “common good.”
Her great-grandpa, for one, lost a whole block of rental apartments, when the communist took over in Hungary.
What is next, what else are they going to take away from you? Your life or “only” your humanity?
Official “buyback” prices
According to the money-changers, “Everything is for sale.”
How far can you agree?
The following are officially-set prices, regardless of the original costs to you, but to be safe, you are also paying for the confiscation with your taxes:

Not that it matters a whole lot, but gun shops have the same weapons in stock. What’s going to happen to those?
In Alberta, as everywhere else, Turdeau wants to confiscate, using your money, but the province won’t participate:

Saskatchewan won’t fund the buyback, either:
Oh, well, the taxpayer will be forced to pay, anyway.
Proposed handgun ban
As if taking your rifles were not bad enough, the government wants to ban handgun sales and purchases as well:

Is Canada going to be the next New Zealand?
Conclusion
I know, I know. Some might say, when it comes to giving up their gun,
“You can take it from my cold, dead hands!”
The predictable answer is,
“Offer accepted!”
Yes, in Adern Archipelago it's just the criminals and police that get to have guns in town.
The criminals are doing daylight armed robberies in malls now. That's new; I suppose that they actually are criminals. So many criminals in power.
My last use of a firearm was at Ft. Knox. I trained for 8 weeks in college for ROTC. I did not find the Army very inviting. I go back and forth on the Romance of armed insurrection and self defense.
Self defense I grasp. Up to a point. Armed insurrection is highly Romantic as is self defense against any modern military. Will my personal fire arm protect me at home from the invader? Maybe. In regards to gun grabbing by the State my thought is it is part of a much greater grab and less important than that which already has been stolen from the armed population. I do not support the grab, but acquiescence to so many other thefts surely offers hope for the Tyrant.
