I have heard of them. Havn't looked closer. They do get dissed in the mainstream media and their theories are likely to be off target. But there are interesting things to be found in this country that will not confirm the official tale. One is nearby me, some painting of animals and boats and some writing (remember Maori supposedly didn't have this ability) of symbols which are indicative of some sort of alphabet.
My own view is that the discovery of NZ is probably a different story than we have but that Maori and Pakeha are involved in it, maybe others too. This settlement is currently dated to about the 14th C but I'd suggest it's later. Originally it was dated to the 8th or 9th C but nobody does that anymore. And the 18th C settlement patterns, coastally based in their entirety (ignoring a very fertile Waikato) suggest later than 14th C settlement as well. Which might ask questions of exactly who Kupe (a kind of Captain Cook character) was.
What also is the relationship between Captain Cook, Abel Tasman and the William of Orange inspired migration from Holland to the UK?
I am looking for a blog I visit on the subject. I bookmarked it. Here is another quick hit---http://onenzfoundation.co.nz/articles/books-and-reviews/proof-of-pre-maori/
I've never got too much into the topic but there was a paper written on the origin of Maori women from DNA which puts their origins in Taiwan. On this blog the writer of that paper (or thesis), Adele Whyte, states that Maori men are from Melanesia.
That doesn't accord with the main Y DNA of Maori men which clump in two groups, one being European and the other being from the Caucasus. The European could of course be the result of 'colonization' but to assume that would be wrong. I've never gone further on that research which was probably only about 2 hours or so.
Early European researchers to NZ had all sorts of theories involving India, the Americas, Ancient Greeks and Egyptians.
My daughter's second name has the same meaning (more or less) in Maori as it does in Etruscan. Not going to say what it is here as I have stalkers.
if you can find a portrait of william of orange it becomes a little
clearer, dutch bankers owned the dutch east indies company, they were / are part of the black nobility, before capt cook there was sir francis drake who
legend says was the queen {liz the1st)chief pirate black beard, oliver cromwell bought about the triumph of william of orange in the glorious
revolution a bloodless coup, once installed william gave the newly arrived
bankers the charter for the bank of england, which signals the begining of
the destruction of the western world which we are a witness to the end of.
Cromwell refused as did the Stuarts to create a Central Bank. The Protestant succession issue was the beard. Cromwell and his son dead by the day of William.
William of Orange is a backstory of great interest. AN often forgotten fact about the Battle of the Boyne in 1690 was that the Pope of the day supported the Protestant King William of Orange against the Catholic King James II.
This unusual alliance came about because the Papacy, then a world power, was at odds with King Louis XIV of France, who was an ally of King James. It is said that a Mass of deliverance was celebrated in Rome after King William's victory.

In a way of speaking we can say rage is endless pain. The idea behind a Truth and Reconciliation tribunal is I think to defang rage. Can a rage filled social order find a road out? Christianity was a genius attempt. Berdyaev goes so far as to say only Christianity can save us from it's failure. https://simoneweilcenter.org/publications/2021/11/28/christianitys-abandonment-of-the-future-nicholas-berdyaev-on-philosophy-prophecy-and-eschatology
Rage has us. The wrath of Achilles.
“Goddess, sing the rage of Pelias’ son Achilles,
Destructive, how it gave the Achaeans endless pain
And send many brave souls of heroes to Hades—
And it made them food for the dogs
And all the birds as Zeus plan was being fulfilled.
Start from when those two first diverged in strife,
The lord of men Atreus’ son and godly Achilles.”
Pollas much like Polis, very Scottish.

read a history of this written by an irishman 20 yrs ago it was mixed in with far older tales of ancient burial mounds etc, my memory no
longer able to recollect, bugger
May I assume that this is a poetic way of saying we are royally screwed? :)
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore—
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over—
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
My potential answer reminds me of an old joke from a Muppet Show from around 1980:
"Excuse me, is that the Sun or the Moon?"
"Sorry, I don't know; I am not a local here."
Ba da bum !
