It's admirable to want to reuse waste or in the least reduce waste and that's the notion behind recycling. The fact that recycling as it's currently practiced is not doing that or the fact that recycling could ever be sustainable even if practiced properly is another matter entirely. Just because recycling as it is practiced is an ineffective ruse doesn't mean man is not fouling its nest and it doesn't mean industrialized man doesn't lead a ridiculously wasteful lifestyle.

Knew it was baloney. In the 70’s I was in elementary school. Global warming. All the predictions didn’t happen. As a kid I believed we would have hemp grocery bags, everything would be recycled glass, go back to wax paper. And we’d have solar everywhere & affordably . All we got was more plastic. And more lies. It’s a good way for select companies to launder money pretending to “ do good “.
Here in Florida, we just moved to a home with solar power. We are searching for homeowners insurance. Our last company is denying us coverage- it concideres the fact we sell our solar on metering to FP&L as a business & denying us coverage unless we get coverage as a home based business. I’m on disability and my husband is retired. There’s no business going on here! If we’re “ going green “ for Obama I mean Biden, shouldn’t we have financial incentives instead of penalties?

Hey, when I was in primary school (sixties) in Poland, we brought paper for recycling to school. I remember there "nice, smooth paper" notebooks and
"brownish, not so smooth" ones. There were paper mills. Ray, you made me
remember that and I wanted to share.

Recycling was one thing I never bought into. I always seemed to be able to see it for BS. on this topic.
I wish I had recognized earlier the parallels it shares with other government sponsored corruption.
