I know of only one real longing. I was born with it and it has haunted me ever since. It will outlive me too. It seems to be alluded to in certain Bible texts which however I shall not quote. Never having met anybody from the biblical faiths who took such longing in the least seriously I can only assume that I have misunderstood.

I can't put into words how the LORD has provided way beyond what I could accomplish on my own. HE has brought good out of all the bad in my life. Most of all thank you JESUS for the forgiveness of my sins which are many and the kingdom of heaven NOW and for all eternity!

I can sense a beautiful longing in all life now, my physical- the wee bit of extra sun time, relief that the apex of the winter solstice has almost a month now past, tonight it’s getting chilly again, low 20’s F, tomorrow expecting mostly clear skies ( those darn trails were staining the sky at dusk) temperatures predicted to raise to low 50’s -

This temperature change induces sap to rise in deciduous trees - tomorrow morning I’m tapping a few sugar maples. No one told them it’s only January. They don’t need the words to know.

for 5 years now, small scale, I’ve had the pleasure noticing this. I’ll let you know how much runs in this spurt. The reduction is about 45-50 to one ratio. Last year was fortunate to end up with about 3 gallons- plenty for the year :)

Great song for your words. Thank you

My father wrote so many poems about longing - including one with words I think you will be able to related to (my English translation):

You're heavy. You weigh on the soul -

So heavy a weight.

Yet when you leave,

I feel … so empty, not light.

For me the song of the Bee Gees, besides all of Saturday Night Fever, which is where I 'met' the Bee Gees, is the New York Mining Disaster Song, for some reason that one really gets me. I can even play that one on guitar. Thanks for the nice link. I know we are in for the end bit of winter now, but I do have to say the light is different, so I feel like spring is just beginning to spring, in very tiny ways. Best
