Expect it in my city soon enough and yours as well. You may have to subtitle it and auto-translate it, but that's basically what it says. The îles de la Madeleine, Québec is requiring people to scan their QR code when they leave.

In China, you are locked out if you don’t scan your cell phone. For now, they are soft selling it here, but I expect that same thing to eventually apply. If you don’t scan your code or phone, you’ll be locked out.

Yes. That is how they do it in China. There are gates everywhere in teh city and those gates do not move for you unless you scanned your phone.
It’s all done through automated systems and your phone will either greenlight when you are approved or red light if you are being punished. Then they use police to ensure that nobody tries jumping the gate.

It's a good question if the whole thing is orchestrated and played out by crisis actors in order to soothe the people that it's alright. People tend to be followers, even if the timetable follows the lemming myth.
