I once saw an old 50s film of a nuclear test in the desert. The weird part was that they showed a mountain of conventional dynamite, stacked and packed and then detonated -- presumably as some sort of necessary pre-test.

This strange "pre-test" forces one to consider that maybe all such nuclear weapon tests were indeed the setting off of an enormous pile of conventional explosive, with the videotaped result being attributed to the (non-existent) nuclear weapon.

Idjits in charge. There is no truth in the world. Nukes sitting in silos for decades...don't they rust?

Frankly I don’t know whether they do or don’t exist. But several countries saying they have 1000’s that can’t be used does make you scratch your head and wonder how dumb can they be. I don’t think they’re dumb. Smells like grift to me. But you’re right. Conventional bombs can be made to look like nuclear explosions. Who would know since they control the information flow. Still would achieve the same end. Terrify the population into demanding or agreeing to actions so that it never happens again and the control, fear, and grift continues. And I think we’re likely to see that trick soon.

That's the idea...

... and there will be plenty of options to eliminate a lot of people after that...

It looks like it. If they were not, is there any faster way to die? :)
