...a good laff indeed! A small caveat. (cave/yaht)... (an' this ain't funny at all...) So hold on ta yer tracktor seat---a grassfed cow today (not even fully processed inta steaks n' such....) comes out to 'bout $4K... some more.
Punchline about dealer-grifts aside, in theory that "dealer" was indeed gettin' a REAL deal goin' by 2023 prices. Some farmers are sayin' beef (an' not even grassfed) could go up ta $50 / lb. An' nobody'll be laughin' then... Moooooo...
TBH, I'm always cracking some cheesy farm animal jokes in my house, and my animal-obsessed younger kids eat it up! This gave me chuckle, thank you Ray & Ray's wife for sharing. I greatly appreciate some Carlin, as his words were some of my first thoughts in March 2020. I shared so many of his skits with friends & family then, begging them to not forget, nor lose themselves to this narrative. Meh, got "crickets" in return. But, Ricky Gervais is a runner-up! Shortly after my child died in March 2020, I needed some dark humor and I turned on his dramedy about grief, so aptly titled: "Afterlife", and oh my! It was just what I needed! Very macrabe, sarcastic humor, very British....just got me out of a dark hole long enough to regroup, reframe- whatever ya wanna call it, and get back to slaying until the next round of darkness came around.
This makes my heart smile, as I'm navigating some "shtuff" (aren't we all?!)
What I've found today is an incredible amount of commaraderie in the comments section from both, writers and readers. Utterly/udderly (🐮 joke reference) refreshing. Most grateful!
I've never cared for whiskey, but I hope, you are drinking the cheapest good stuff. Most liquors contain graphene oxide or worse these days, synthetic materials...
No kidding! I hope to experiment with brewing my own bourbon and beer, someday but not quite sure that's a luxury I'll be able to afford, both time and $$$, and not sure where I homestead can support a small row of hops, barley, etc- if I can get my hand on some "clean" grains. Shall see!
Thank you for the laughter, I sure did need it! I used to live in farm country, there are several farmers/ranchers who would get a real hoot out of it and I could see one of them doing this. Farm humor is wonderful.
My next-door neighbor was breeding cows until last year. He may have become too old for the business, so the moo-vie is gone here. I'm wondering if there were any "subsidies" to assist him with his decision, but feed became too expensive as well. Self-sufficiency is under attack, as it has been in the last 30 years or more.
For the last 30 yrs at least. Very hard to find farm land any more, either and if you do it's hugely expensive. Now, they sell land in little 1/4 acre plots for huge $.
Whereas politicians already collected government subsidies (taxpayer's money) for NOT growing anything as early as in 1992 (that's how far I can track it).
Last year, farmers were already offered $3,6-6k per acre for the same.
Comedy is the hardest genre. There are several conditions for a person finding something funny. (Not talking about you, only in general.)
One has to be in the mood and must not be familiar with the joke. It also depends on one's preference for humor, which cannot be judged by others.
If a joke hits a nerve , it is also a party pooper. I remember reading viewers' comments on the 2006 movie, Idiocracy. Those, who didn't like it, usually exhibited the symptoms of what has by become a documentary.
When someone is depressed, jokes only hurt...
There are lots of other reasons for not laughing, but this post was only a joke.
My sense of humor usually boils down to sarcasm, so I prefer to avoid practicing it. :)
As a critical thinker, you might have better luck with the following article, although it's only witty, not hilarious; it can still evoke a smile or two:
Sorry, "now" is missing after "by" in my previous reply, but I guess, it's not a tragedy. Substack doesn't allow for corrections after five minutes.
When it comes to George, the only aspect I could address is why he was allowed to pronounce so many parts of the truth, but whenever I analyze an icon, I tend to lose a few subscribers. For example,
Not sure if I could add anything to George's heritage; it speaks for itself. He and I share quite a few of our opinions, and I do enjoy most of his stuff.
I did not laugh.
Depression sucks (I guess)

My spouse used to run dealerships (general manager) yrs ago…he got a good chuckle 🤭

I'm trying to keep it that way, and by now, I have become EXTREMELY familiar with the latest forms of attack:

Deluxe dual horns...he should be charging for those!
“Deluxe dual horns” - this really made me laugh!
You mean, the cow? :) It could be a bull!
Great post! We definitely need more laughter with all the horrific news being thrown at us everywhere we turn.
My wife's finding! :) I was roaring for a minute or two, but I'll revisit it on cloudy days! :D
That was the idea! :)
Yes what?
Sorry about that.
