Is This an Example of Fake Opposition, Professional Jealousy, or Unfounded Suspicion?
Live and learn.
Forgive her for not putting “ground” in the plural, but she is unable to consider anyone beyond herself.
Substack, understandably, has become a precarious forum.
It is also understandable that with all the trolls/bots on Substack, authors, including me, have become suspicious, but I’m not sure why anyone would suspect me to be either of the two. Is it possible that something else is going on?
I need your help to decide what you believe has been going on between Mickey and me. Please, notice that I am not trying to accuse him of anything, but he refused to continue the conversation, so I assume, it’s only fair to ask for your input.
He is an author who has been saying things that were pretty close to my stance, although I only discovered him in the last few months, so I definitely haven’t used him as a source (I usually don’t use anyone, because I AM “the Source” :) ).
This time, I’m wondering what his problem is with me. I usually leave links to my posts in comment sections that are relevant to the articles and save space for other comments and leave it up to other readers if they want to read my articles. I also invite other authors to do the same in my comment sections, which I consider fair.
In this case, you might want to notice which link upsets him and his responses. His posts also help you understand why he got so upset. All I’m asking you is to help me understand where he seems to be coming from. I am clueless.
I am documenting our “conversation” from the following (I have backups):

Here are the details of our “conversation,” in case the site owner changes them:

"Medical" isolation is only a small part of turning the country into a single isolation/death camp:

Do you ever leave a comment that doesn't contain a link to your own Substack?

2 hr ago We are the small ones and we have to work together. I only leave links, whenever they are applicable and expand/complement the scope of an article. You are more than welcome to do the same. In this case, everyone can choose to see my article and I'm not clogging up your site with my comment that, otherwise, would amount to my whole article. Which way do you want me to go? It's YOUR site, after all.

Author To the best of my memory, you have never commented here without leaving a link to one of your own articles. Yes, it's not exactly taking up much space but it's also not the same as engaging with other readers and commenters. After a while, it feels like spam.

I thought you and I were on the same team, and I offered you that you can also leave links to your articles in my comment sections. Have you ever read any of my articles? They are ALWAYS relevant and complementary to yours. How is that spam? Of course, you can ask me politely to stay away and I will. Alternatively, you can ban me. Frankly, at this point, I don't care, just let me know.

All I did was ask a question and accurately point out a trend and look where you've taken this. I'm done with this thread, Ray. I'm not interested in manipulation attempts like "I thought you and I were on the same team."

So, what exactly do you mean by "accurately point out a tend and..."? Sorry, I don't get it, especially the manipulation part, but I can live with all these.
I am interested in all opinions, especially Mickey’s.
In the meanwhile, you are welcome to vote:
Mickey started six months before me and often said what I did, although I don’t buy into his “fascism” crap and a number of other things. You are more than welcome to read his other articles here:

And mine here:
Seemed he had a problem. Suggest very short!! replies.
Eg. You always link to your work.
Answer: yes.
His reply...you need to...(chastising you).
Answer: my page, my style
Don't explain, don't engage.
BUT, you CAN say to him,
If you want to link others, I appreciate it.
I cover my own things.
PS...takes A LOT of time to find, collate others.
Meanwhile, thanks, great work.
Do you have to get permission to quote others?
If not, find someone similar, put one in.
THERE.
Friends that I met up with recently after not seeing them for 8 months or more know of Substack and view it as a right wing platform. They didn't know that I was on Substack (and anyway know to keep away from me online due to the 'association' with someone who upsets those who could harm them). Nevertheless they seem to use Substack for information but tend to follow all the big guys like Del & Steve & Glenn etc etc.
It's a difficult thing to both promote your Substack here and not be thought of as interloping into somebody else's Substack. When I first started mine there was somebody doing that quite a lot and then there was me who did it seldom. We started off on the same number of subscribers of course and after several months we were still around the same, maybe a couple of hundred or so. But now said Substacker is well ahead of me, in the thousands while I'm struggling to 700.
So if you want the subscribers I guess you'll have to take the flak. I think that we should all not bother worrying about it, or personalities, and just get on with fixing the dystopia that the dystopians are trying to level on us.
