This is hilarious horseshit and you know it Ray. "The 2nd Smartest Guy (after me, of course :) ) and The Good Citizen started mandating paid subscriptions for commenting."
Content farming via shitposts or what?
I've NEVER had comments for paid subscribers only. Free posts are WIDE OPEN. Paywalled posts are of course for the flock because why would someone comment on something they can't read more than a few paragraphs of? Censorship has arrived on Substack, but you should put your target on Stripe shutting down payments for people critical of Israel's genocide, and ZOG - Israel's outpost colony/empire...like Kevin Barrett.
Hahhaaaaa. Okay chief. Subscriptions with no tiers, no rewards, no difference between paid and free. If that's how you run your outfit fine. And you can judge others for not doing the same as "bad." But most people in this world expect some difference between the two, and don't suspect something is off for when they put up the occasional paywalled post. Free posts with comments only open to paid subs is an entirely different story. Nice shitpost though. Well done. You got me.
Very interesting. I love reading and engaging in the comments here but when I got a little feisty, I got a little targeted (which is strange because I'm a literal no one).
In five months, I have encountered about five trolls, but didn't have any problems with them. I usually wait until they make introduce themselves for what they are, describe it for readers, and ignore the rest.
Basically for questioning the big two and substack, was throwing out pretty wild (but veiled) insinuations. Then two strange occurences which made me question whether I was being targeted or whether they were just two extremely coincidental (online) events.
Checked out "Barb" whose typical bottish profile & scripted intelli-speak made me miserable. It's not just bots, shills or trolls out there - there's professional timewasters. S/he is one of those and they proliferate over twitter, youtube and assumedly the meta platforms too. They are cognitive warfare influence nudgers and seem to be real humans, really miserable egoists too.
What made me miserable is seeing them on substack too. Robert Malone's and Steve Kirsch's comment section is where I got feisty weeks ago and experienced a little targeting after a few signalings. I avoid their sites now (especially Malone's).
Yes, time-wasting also comes with their trade. Most of them are probably bots. Bots must be tested and improved, after all. Responses to their attacks must be analyzed.
I don't have the nerves to read Malone (never did, because he was an obvious shill from the beginning; I find it hard to believe that he will turn around as Yeadon did, because he was a major player in the development of the death shots that will be "tested" in the death camps, oops, "Green Zones"), but Kirsch, for some reason, is getting better and better. There are some troll/bots there, "who" are usually not the smartest cookies in the jar. My responses confuse them to the point that eventually, they simply start repeating themselves. :)
When I was new here, I mixed up real people, who simply disagreed with me, with bots/trolls, but it didn't take more than a little conversation between us for me to remedy my mistake. I have at least three of those people among my usual readers and best commenters now!
haha, you can handle yourself well then I take it. Twas a steep learning curve for me & I'm not sure on the best way to proceed. In the meantime I'll enjoy discourse in comment sections all over!
Back to replying here, there and email inbox. Have a good 'un Ray!
Like many money has become tight, necessities come first. And much of the public discourse has shifted to Crime, Violence, Economy. Our income for Seniors is fixed. Yet my grocery bill and copays have gone up. And will conitue to do so. The promised SS raise will not meet those needs.. Lower rank Military are told to get on SNAP, MANY ALREADY WHERE. Lower ranks don't live in Base housing, they rent public sector, and BAQ is the same no matter how many kids you have,. Goodwill even raised their prices double. Shopping at the Commissary is the same as shopping at any grocery store, shortages are back, pour quality fresh produe, meats are going up, so you chose the lower quality, which is not healtht; those of us on speciality diets find it hard to find the food we need. Fixident Gum Adhesive has gone from $4.00 to $15.00. Many of use are unable to hold even part time jobs. Many of those are being phased out by self check out machines, as Biden forces his Digital TRACKABLE Money on use. CC are tracking purchases of guns, ammo, and gone WOKE.

Fauci's Net Worth Doubled During Pandemic, As Americans Struggled to Make Ends Meet
According to watchdog group OpenTheBooks, Fauci and his wife saw a $5 million net worth growth, expanding from $7.5 million in 2019 to $12.6 million by the end of 2021.
Here is a wonderful post by SubStack, explaining to us peons what we have likely already guessed. The simple fact that SubStack is a Silicon Valley corporation. Explaining to us writers that they only make money if we make money. Wanna be a SuperStar? Thanks all but no thanks, lol. I have no problem with making money and maybe SubStack is all for good? Interesting times?
From my observation, this is not unique to Substack. I noticed the trend in 2020 immediately after the safest, most secure election in world history. The Federalist and American Thinker, in order to avoid lawsuits from Dominion et al, discontinued comments on their sites and changed to alternative platforms and/or subscriptions to facilitate user comments.
The number of non-mainstream sites implementing similar arrangements grew exponentially in the wake of Biden’s coronation and creation of the disinformation bureau. By bowing to outside pressure, this is establishing a dangerous precedent - paying to exercise your inalienable right to free expression.
Does substack allow for multiple tiers for a payment cycle? Like for example, you can have more that 1 monthly/3/6/12 month tier and each tier could offer something a little more?
Surprised there are no $1-3 tiers. Patreon-style tiering can start at $1.... Maybe less. Maybe these tiers could enable commenting. Still allows someone to support your work.
My point is that substack should have some freestyle tiers that allow authors to better customize the rewards. Or maybe they do already have this, but authors are not using it properly?
I chose to write Free, I'm not a proiffessional. But understand my subjects well. Was I good at my real first try, you be the judge, I improvethe more I write. Baby Formula https://gailhonadle.substack.com/p/coming-soon?s=w

Yes, you can, for instance, pay me for one months and leave out two, if you think that my charging $15 is too much. It's a bit inconvenient, but it's a way around it.
Paying more is also possible as a "gift," if someone doesn't want to pay for a year or become a founding member.
Patreon is for big dogs with over 50k subscribers. With my short stories, I might open an account there one day.
Sherlock Holmes might say, "When you have removed all of the scientifically literate and critical thinkers in Substack, what remains, however improbable, are paid pharma shills and trolls."
I'm (relatively) new on Substack - since July 31. So far, no intention to limit comments to paid subscribers. I totally support, though, anyone who does this. I appreciate the interaction I can have, including with the writers. But this is not an easy thing, earning for what we contribute.
And... "That's the winner for today" thank you Ray. :-))
I'm not at all at ease to be consuming very fine intellectual output
and not compensating the author. It's rather complex situation for individual like myself. Living on bare minimal pensioner has to choose very wisely indeed. All I can add is my great appreciation for generosity of your mind and spirit Ray.
This world belongs to everyone, who decides to live like a human being! :)
The most important things in life are free or cannot be bought:
My whole life is backing up my articles, but the readers are more important than the articles! They can make a difference in the world in many ways that don't require spending money!
We come to this life naked, and that's how we'll leave. What matters is the way we have lived.
Wowee, this is definitely bad news--newbie to your site and like it muchly!!!! Methinks those chargin' for comments are doin' so not cuz they're paid off but to avoid the ornery time-sucking troll bots and hope to stem off this really weird thing goin' on of not all posts gettin' thru (have this myself--my hubby on tutanota seems more posts than I get on my protonmail--though I like the proton interface better). Some of us contrarian unjabbed folks (least those'v us in the "blew" states) lost jobs n' can't manage the paid, 'specially if we read a bunch. As fer the trolls, how awful! I read those exchanges, it's like gettin' a hornet in yer boxers and can't shoo it out! What happens if ya just post somethin' like "troll bot?" or does the AI have a canned response to that too?
Agreed, this is an all out effort to "take down" the "resistance" or at least free-thinkin' voices. I hopin' to stave off the onslaught bein' a self-proclaimed "crackpot" (proud of it too!")--we'll see if that strategy works... Golly, what a mess (an' I'm a tad late to this show anywayz)
I see--the one you linked to had bots, no? they--the bots--seemed to misread what'ya said and tried to pick a fight--not real folks, just AI (unless I had it wrong?)
Any of those options are possible, but it doesn't matter. They were not specific about the objective of the fight. One of them has a site on Substack and is defending CRT, which suggests that (s)he is a hired hand, but an AI can also write such essays.
Got it--bots (the ro- kind) in the jabs, bots on the substack, fake bot dogs coming to police our cities--seems like Mr Global & co bought a lotta bots to mess with us good... (or, actually bad, as it were...)
See, ladies and gentlemen, like we touched on in Lee's column this morning, you warriors are having an effect in magnifying our reach, voice, and reason.
All should hear, "We are stronger with you than without you."
Those, who are afraid, will die first, even if their bodies will still be around live and kicking...
Of course, my friend, there is no "we." Once people are starved and cold, they WILL kill you for a loaf of bread, especially if their children's lives are at stake...
While I am not one who does, I understand accepting paid subscriptions, but I don't understand requiring them to access content that is written to save lives, especially if those persons are well beyond meeting basic living requirements. I don't know individual person's situations in life so it's not for me to call anyone out. But sometimes pictures and description of activities, makes me say? "Really, you helped make this mess and now you're charging the people to hear about how you helped make the mess, but are trying to clean it up while you peer out the window of your cozy hidden away abode to the mountainside. Nope, no thank you."
Many of the most valuable contributors can't afford to pay or use a form of payment, yet they promote our sites!
That's why it's against logic to require anyone to pay. In fact, not a single honest person is doing this for money! :)
Of course, I have no choice but unsubscribe after a warning... I have sent them countless subscribers and they are still treating you like crap. That's why I think, their sites are now mirrored... They would need help to be as stupid as this...
the most valuable contributors can't...use a form of payment, yet they promote our sites!" - So you are saying they are afraid (your analogy with "truckers") to use their cards but they are still the most valuable and promote "your sites?"
The ones you wrote about are within the controlled opp circle and are aggressively promoted by that circle, incl. sites outside of substack. That's why - and strict adhering to the "permitted" narrative of the cont. opp. - they have gained so many "paid subscribers."
I really think that there are so many people who readily "support" the ones whom they perceive (due to aggressive pseudo-alternative media propaganda) as "heroes" or "opposition."
Sadly, I think those "thousands of paid subscribers" are actual , real brainwashed and dumbed down people and not taxpayers money (such as some "agents" subscribing, etc.).
Ray, do you think that all those hundreds of thousands (combined) supporters of kirsch, malone, shrier, berenson, margaret alice llc, greenwald, reich, and many, MANY others are all injected gov. agents?
(Are they (gov. agents) really injected or they protect themselves from that harmful garbage in the shots?)
I am convinced that all those supporters are members of the public who bought into the false propaganda and idea of "free journalism," "opposition," etc. and now they proudly contribute their dollars to support those frauds (there is even an element of "virtue signaling" for supporting the frauds).
The goal of all that is to create a tightly connected flock (that's why the frauds constantly promote each other - an illusion of one big family) of the morons who think they are the "opposition" and who are being fed the same wrong, incomplete, and false ideas.
It is virtually impossible to expose the crimes of the gov. because people are not trained to learn and consider such information - their opinion have been shaped in the way that they only talk and listen about "corruption" in some abstract terms because their fraudulent heroes always follow the "proper," gov. script when they "report" something to them.
I really think it is a massive issue - how well the gov brainwashes the population regarding how to think and what to consider. That allows it to get away with all the crimes. When I show, with evidence, that the filthy "courts" commit crimes and directly assist in crimes, a few people seem to be willing to learn about it because their phony heroes taught them to think in a different, hypocritical way. The frauds would never report on any true crimes and dare to continue talking about the criminal "legal" system as if it were something legitimate while entirely ignoring the crimes it openly commits.
I think it's happening too. I often don't see stuff from A Midwestern Doctor (The Forgotten Side of Medicine), Steve Kirsch, and Jessica Rose unless I go looking for them. When I mentioned it on Steve's substack I suddenly saw his articles show up more often but not the others. I specifically haven't seen The Forgotten Side of Medicine in weeks and yet he has articles as recently as the 25th. So it IS happening.
All these are the controlled opposition, promoters, panderers, etc. on which substack makes a considerable amount of money. Why substack will be hiding the run-of-the-mill frauds? It hides true, un-paid, un-promoted voices with unique information and opinions.
It seems to kick in only after a certain number of free subscribers, which I have apparently overestimated. These people didn't have more than 2-3 thousand at most... As you can expect one paid subscription after every 100 free ones, it's easy to figure out that at least 10k subscribers are needed to generate minimum wage. :)
No, I'm not going to EVER charge for access, either. My site is for my readers and for me to do something loving before I die. If my site will ever charge a mandatory fee for ANYTHING, you will know it's not me anymore...
Ray, the shills you wrote about in your article (there are many more of course) both have HUNDREDS of paid subscribers. It absolutely "generates" a very good living. The sheep always has been greed-oriented, asking for money, and saying that he "must hit a certain number of paid subscribers each month." Read for only 2-3 weeks - all wrong ideas, dumb, some form of the controlled opp., etc. - unsubscribed a long time ago.
Read the second one who also is not smart at all for an even shorter period of time - constant spam, like 5-6 emails a day, constant reposting, support and promotion of controlled opp. (just like the sheep one) - unsubscribed a long time ago.
Well, I cannot name more than a few sites on Substack that are either not compromised or trying to stalk towards revealing something closer to the truth. The two in question have never been totally "clean," but they did contain usable info off and on. Good authors usually have only fewer than 1k subscribers and maintain that for years. Dunno. My readership is steadily increasing, but I'm not for sale. Too old for that sort of thing.
I'm trying to encourage good authors (you are one of them) to place links into my comment sections, whenever applicable. We cannot be responsible for each other's articles, but we can still unite as a front against lies, morons, and shills.
The manipulators also function as weather vanes for me, because I couldn't watch TV news for more than 30-45 seconds in a year. :)
It depends. When I was 16, I made that decision. If someone is not ready with the decision, there might not be enough time to make it, when a "once-in-a-lifetime" offer comes in! What they fail to realize is that most of the time, such offers are a one-way street; they cannot exit the contract, unless dead.
I think in reality it is more toned-down such as they give an implicit consent. It's not a one time offer, it's a way of life. And they will prosper till the day they die. Maybe we talk about different things? I am not talking about some special "secret agents," I mean the so-called "normal" people who go with the flow (pretend, lie, "comply," etc.) Probably, 97-98% of the (able adult) population?
There are tons of writers on SubStack with a bunch of paid subscribers who also keep non paying readers and writers from commenting. I personally get annoyed with those who keep asking for money. It's one thing to monetize a stack and yet another to be a grifter and keep asking for more.
I agree with you... although I've very few, I constantly get messages in my mailbox to change my substack account to a paid form, but I think this is related to the fact whether someone is close to the truth or not...
well, I don't think I have more since I've only been writing here for a very short time, but honestly it doesn't matter - the important thing is to wake people up a little and maybe thereby help some people to spare themselves and especially the children further suffering and pain - you are doing an excellent job Mr. Horvath and I appreciate that more than anything - thank you very much for that!!!
Nailed it my buddy, as none of us get out of here alive, so many diversions to hide from this life, I seem to be everyone and no one at the same time. It helps with clarity.
Finally back from the ‘vacation’ 😝. Made a small crack in the door of conversation with my daughter. Very small, but a start. ❤️
I'm pretty much on par with this. Plus there's not enough time for one to dedicate all to substack, despite it being a much more creative, freely expressive and friendly platform.
I tend to use a lot less social media these days, still read blogs and vlogs and am still finding substack a glowing experience but I don't think I'll ever be able to sustain any sort of income from it in the short term.
My impression is that comments are also halted by authors, whose articles couldn't stand criticism. I don't even read those most of the time, who expect money for commenting, because the comments are obviously one-sided.
Your not paying is just fine. For authors, it's a package deal. If someone can afford to support my writing, because (s)he feels I deserve it, they do, and they will. I'm happy with that.
This is hilarious horseshit and you know it Ray. "The 2nd Smartest Guy (after me, of course :) ) and The Good Citizen started mandating paid subscriptions for commenting."

That's a problem, and if you read my article, it's there: you don't have the resources to answer free subscribers' comments.

All should hear, "We are stronger with you than without you."
Think we have them scared, or at least alarmed?
I do.
Those, who are afraid, will die first, even if their bodies will still be around live and kicking...
Of course, my friend, there is no "we." Once people are starved and cold, they WILL kill you for a loaf of bread, especially if their children's lives are at stake...
I'm sure you have the right angle! :)
All I said was that many people who can't afford to pay are still promoting your site with their valuable comments.
Not sure about paying subscribers. Taxpayer's money is being spent in mysterious ways. :)
Government workers? All injected? :)
Have believed SubStack has been shadow banning for awhile. Understand why people want to charge people to comment but I’m not going to.
Shadow-banning content, or shadow-banning commenters?
Probably both for all I can see...
Content I believe. No facts, just some observations.
While taking the intellectual property and using it elsewhere.
Interesting thanks. Would be too much to expect any words from SubStack, lol.
❤️
"I'm not for sale. Too old for that sort of thing." -- I thought this ("not for sale") is based on integrity, not on age!
Oh, they are usually not worth a penny, either, but some people tend to think that if something is not free, it's worth the money. It's not.
Those are the ones I avoid! :) Bottom feeders...
I agree with you... although I've very few, I constantly get messages in my mailbox to change my substack account to a paid form, but I think this is related to the fact whether someone is close to the truth or not...
I am not getting any of those messages, but they would make no difference. You might have more subscribers than I do.
well, I don't think I have more since I've only been writing here for a very short time, but honestly it doesn't matter - the important thing is to wake people up a little and maybe thereby help some people to spare themselves and especially the children further suffering and pain - you are doing an excellent job Mr. Horvath and I appreciate that more than anything - thank you very much for that!!!
Yes, I can see you've just started. I hope, it will work out for you!
You and I don't want to wake "people" up: "people" make no difference and our readers are already awake.
We want the enforcers to realize that they will NOT be spared, either, and their money is not going to be worth a farthing in two years from now.
The system can be sabotaged only by insiders, who come to understand that they will also be killed and replaced with robots!
No I only get messages to monetize my content from SubStack itself, not subscribers.
I'm not sure why that is.
Corporate alliances, lol! I pay, you pay, we all profit together!
Of course SubStack wants our readers to pay us - so SubStack gets paid. It’s a Silicon Valley corporation.
Which is why they should allow the Freedom of Speech. :)
This seems to be a way to circumvent it. After all, it's only taxpayer's money.
Yes, the spirit of doing whatever we are able to contribute. I wouldn’t be much help in armed combat or professional politics.
The Spirit is all that matters! :)
Yes. True.
Done, that's a good suggestion. Thanx
