Casting ones vote is much like making a wish, or praying to the authority of the state. Once the wish is made and one has subjected his will to the higher authority, one can only wait and hope the intended result happens. Voting places one into a passive state of receptivity for the state. No complaints are valid once such compliance is given. I reserve my will, my desires, and my authority over my own life.

I was driving to work and realised there was another aspect to voting. Voting isn't just about the future, but also the past. By voting, one has accepted and forgiven all the murder, theft, rape, and kidnapping done by the system since the previous vote. A cleansing of the past as it were.

Our water meter is also a "smart" one, but at least it's in hole in the ground surrounded with concrete walls (I added some aluminum foil in our direction; fully encasing it would mean "tampering" and a heavy fine). It's been around for about 15 years, too, even before I bought my small house. I tried asking for a regular meter and was told no way. Tried contacting lawyers, and they said I had to prove it harmed ME! Wouldn't that be too late? At least I managed to pass on the electric "smart" meter. It costs $15 a month (and mysteriously, consumption went up by about 20 percent, perhaps to make me ask fora meter replacement, which can result only in a "smart" meter), but the meter is at least not going to set the house on fire (everything is wood, plastic, and drywall here).

There are local elections that might actually be counted. I refer to judgeships, county commissioners, city council and school boards.
I present this because ten years ago the lawyer that ran the legal interference so that my half brother could kill my mother in a hospice to prevent her from stopping a lawsuit he had started in her name, was running for district court judge. This is a very powerful position.
This lawyer is a piece of dung extraordinaire. When I discovered he was on the ballot I called all my old class mates and asked them to vote against him. He did not get the office in spite of being a high office Mason and on the state lawyers ethics committee, imagine that.
If the powers that be were looking for more human garbage, no a robber, murderer, pedophile, and queer that would do anything for money, he was certainly their preferred embodiment.
I believe that it is possible that my effort prevented him from gaining office and that was good for the race.
So while the big offices are too important for us to influence, the *little offices* count too.
